Persian & Himalayan FAQ

How big do Persians and Himalayans get?

Adults usually weigh 8 to 12 pounds, with males running a little larger. They look much bigger than they are because of the coat.

How much grooming do they need?

A real brushing every other day, at minimum. They will not do it themselves and will absolutely hold a grudge if you do not. A monthly bath helps the coat stay soft.

Are they good with kids and other pets?

Generally yes, especially when raised in a busy home. They are calm, patient, and slightly aloof in a charming way. They get along fine with respectful dogs.

What is the difference between a Persian and a Himalayan?

Himalayans are Persians with the colorpoint pattern (cream body, dark face and paws) bred in. Same temperament, same care.

When can a kitten go home?

Twelve weeks. Younger than that and they have not had enough time with their mom and littermates.

Do you ship?

We prefer in-person pickup. For families further out we are willing to coordinate flight nanny services. We do not ship as cargo.
